Takoyaki [たこ焼き] (literally ‘cooked octopus’, but so much nice than that!) is a regional specialty of Kansai, and you’ll often see it offered at festivals and events. Takoyaki are basically balls of cooked dough with small piece of octopus in the middle. They are served with a BBQ style sauce and Japanese mayonnaise.
There’s a great little shop in one of the side streets to the right as you walk up towards Motomachi Station (you’ll see the sign above)…cheap and delicious…check it out!
