Lexis Japan English teachers Adam and Cara share 15 seconds of their Sunday Wakayama adventure.
Wakayama prefecture is located south of Kobe (around the bay) on the Kii Peninsula.
The capital city (Wakayama) is around 2.5 hours drive from Sannomiya. Although we only explored the north, it was enough to get a glimpse of the beautiful coastlines and thick forests the region has to offer. The coastal routes and winding, mountainous roads are extremely popular amongst drive enthusiasts. Best explored at your own leisure, you can hire a car in Sannomiya for around ¥4000 a day (with an international license). Wakayama provides a beautiful break from the city, right on Kobe’s doorstep!
